Many people book one of our serviced apartments so they can spend a week in the capital, whether it’s for business or pleasure…or both! So we’ve put together a suggested itinerary of things to do if you’re spending more than five nights in London. Whether you’ve been hard at work all day or have tired yourself out with sightseeing, there are plenty of ways to relax and unwind.
Monday movie night
There should be enough time to cook a quick bite to eat before heading out to the cinema. There are plenty of multiplexes scattered across London so there’ll always be somewhere close to your apartment, but if you want something with a bit more character, there are independent cinemas too. The Phoenix in East Finchley shows new releases, classics and independent films, and is licensed, so you can settle back to watch the film with a glass of locally-brewed beer or spirits.
Tuesday at the South Bank
As you’re in London, you have to spend time doing ‘touristy’ things. The South Bank is a great place to visit at any time, but at night, it can be quite magical. See London at dusk from the London Eye which is open until 8.30 every night (sometimes even later), then stroll along the river to look for somewhere fun to eat or drink – the bar at the Royal Festival Hall often has free live music, so it’s definitely worth a visit.
West End Wednesday
Who doesn’t love a trip to the theatre, and London’s West End is jam-packed full of them! Tickets can be expensive, but if you don’t have a particular play or musical in mind, there are plenty of bargains to be had. If you can get down to the famous Leicester Square Theatre Booth before it closes at 7.00pm, you could get last minute tickets to great shows at up to half price. Or bag a bargain online via Visit London or lastminute.com. If comedy is more your thing, the world-famous Comedy Store has regular improv nights put on by the Comedy Store Players, which includes some very familiar faces.
Spring in your step Thursday
After going into Central London two days in a row, you’ll probably want to stay local for the penultimate day of the week. But that doesn’t mean you can’t let off a bit of steam – trampolining is the latest craze and Borehamwood’s Megajump is the place to do it. The last session of the day begins at 7.00pm, so you’ve got plenty of time to work up an appetite before going back to your serviced apartment to cook yourself a healthy dinner…or grab a takeaway on the way home!
Start the weekend by going to Soho to soak up the terrific atmosphere. If you like Chinese food, then you have to visit Chinatown where you could spend the best part of the evening trying to decide where to eat! After dinner, you’re within a stone’s throw of glitzy, cheesy Leicester Square, or the buzzing Old Compton Street which is a hub for LGBT people and a great place to people-watch. And if you want to end up in a nightclub, there are more than enough to choose from without going too far.
If you fancy our suggested five nights in London – or any other! – book one of our serviced apartments so you know you’ll have a great night’s sleep afterwards.
