New Year’s Eve is a great time to let your hair down with your friends. Wherever you are, there’ll always be something going on, but many people choose to gravitate to London for the festivities. If you’re planning to do that, why not book a night or two in one of our North London/South Hertfordshire serviced apartments. It’ll give you a comfortable place to sleep it off, without the need to get up in time for breakfast. You and your friends could share one apartment for the price of a mid-range hotel room, potentially halving your total accommodation bill.
Thousands of people use New Year’s Eve as an excuse to go out clubbing and there’s no shortage of venues! Whether you’re staying in North London, Watford or Elstree, there’s bound to be a club or pub that’ll be open long into the early hours of 2018.
Fireworks on the Thames
You’re too late to book tickets to stand on the South Bank to watch the London fireworks because they’re sold out. However, there is a way of possibly getting an even better view of them! Partygoers with sea legs can book a place on a Thames party boat where they will not only get a good view of the fireworks, they’ll also get a sightseeing cruise beforehand, and the chance to stay inside in the warmth of the bar until the chimes of midnight.
Unusual things to do
If you don’t fancy clubbing or just drinking on New Year’s Eve, London does offer alternative ways of spending the evening. We’ve found some of them:
A night at the museum? – The Natural History Museum is going Blue Planet with an Under The Sea party beneath the blue whale. As well as sipping ocean-themed cocktails, you’ll be able to explore the museum, take part in the silent disco and singalong to a live band karaoke.
Beauty and the Feast – Dinner meets panto in this theatrical, culinary experience. It’s also an excuse to dress up in “Regal French fashion”. On New Year’s Eve, the price includes unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks with your dinner.
Come to the cabaret old chum – Leicester Square has been taken over by Christmas and one of the most popular attractions for grown-ups is The Black Cat Cabaret which provides entertaining evenings with singers, dancers, acrobats and comics.
Ceilidh – If you prefer more traditional dancing, then the Cecil Sharp House is holding a New Year’s Eve Ceilidh.
