If you’re a movie buff, North London can offer a lot of things to do. By renting serviced apartments in Elstree and Watford, you’ll find yourself a lot closer to the lights, camera, action.
Our Elstree serviced apartments are virtually on the doorstep of the famous Elstree Studios. Elstree is probably best known as being the birthplace of Star Wars and has seen the creation of films such as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, X-men: First Class, The King’s Speech, Paddington, The World’s End and The Danish Girl.
Elstree is also a major TV production centre and is home to Strictly Come Dancing, Pointless, The Voice and Big Brother. Other programmes which are based in separate studios but have used Elstree to film different segments include EastEnders, Holby City and Dr Who.
By staying at one of our serviced apartments in Borehamwood, you’ll be a just couple of minutes away from the magic of film and TV studios. Whilst you’re staying in one of our Borehamwood serviced apartments, why not apply to be part of a studio audience at Elstree – tickets are usually free and will give you a chance to see the studios from the inside and get closer to the stars. Check out the studio’s FAQ page for details of companies which organise them.
The advantage of a serviced apartment is that you have your own kitchen to make your meals. The nearest large supermarket to our apartments is actually next door to Elstree Studios, so who knows who you might bump into whilst you’re stocking up!
If you prefer magic wands to light sabres, the Warner Brothers Studios at Leavesden is a short journey from our Watford serviced apartments. The buildings the Harry Potter movies were actually filmed in have been converted into the world famous Warner Brother Studio Tour with the original sets and props from the Harry Potter franchise on show to the public, including the Great Hall, Privet Drive, the knight bus and Hogwarts itself.
Warner Brothers also have working studios next door to the Harry Potter tours, where they’re currently filming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the latest film in the Harry Potter franchise.
All of our North London serviced apartments are near fast transport links into London, a city which has provided the backdrop to many films and TV programmes over the years. There are dozens of companies offering tours of locations, possibly the most unusual being a Duck Tour of locations from the James Bond movies, including the iconic MI6 headquarters!
If you’re ready for your close up, we look forward to welcoming you to Your Apartment soon!
