Even though it’s the middle of winter, spring isn’t far away and this is a good time to start planning for a few days in London. With Easter falling in the middle of April, spring will be in full bloom and the daytime temperatures should be warm enough for everyone to start enjoying being outdoors.
If you’re planning to stay in a serviced apartment in North London next spring, there’ll be plenty to do locally and in Central London. We’ve put together a few ideas to get you started:
If you’re a fan of walking, London in the sunshine is glorious. The Royal Parks offer a combined 5,000 acres of greenery and parkland to explore and enjoy, whether you’re interested in London’s heritage or just fancy a stroll in the park. Easter will see the return of the hire boats to the Serpentine in Hyde Park, so what better time to swap the rowing machine in the gym for the real thing!
Alternatively, wander along the South Bank and experience what’s on offer. Travel to Westminster tube and walk over Westminster Bridge, taking in the sight of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben as you do so. Then you can walk along the river and maybe visit some of the tourist attractions on the way, such as the London Eye, Gabriel’s Wharf, the Tate Modern or the Globe Theatre. Then maybe walk over the Millennium Bridge to visit St Paul’s Cathedral.
If you like the outdoors but don’t want to walk, you could always take one of the many tourist bus tours of the capital.
Some of the world’s best museums are in London, and most of them are free of charge, so it would be a real shame if you were in the city and didn’t take advantage. In North London, you’ll be near the RAF Museum where you can see over 100 historic aircraft, for free, as well as paid for experiences such as sitting in the cockpit of a Spitfire or finding out what it’s like to be a pilot in flight simulators and in the 4D theatre.
The most famous attraction in North London is the Warner Bros Studio Tour just outside Watford, where fans of the Harry Potter series can get up close and personal with the film sets and some of the magical creatures that appeared in the movies.
