Making Your Short-Term Rental in Elstree Feel Like Home

Just because you’re renting a temporary home, doesn’t mean that you should have to compromise on style. While we do our best to ensure our Elstree rentals are fully furnished and feel like a ‘home away from home’, there are a few things you can do to make your short-term rental feel even more homely. With these simple tips, you can add a little personality and flair to your short-term let.

  1. Pick up some plants

Plants and flowers are an easy way to liven up any living space. Not only do they provide oxygen and help clean the air, but they are also an attractive addition to any room. Consider sprucing up your Elstree rental with houseplants in the lounge, bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms. Greenery as décor is a huge trend right now and the variety of indoor plants can offer fun displays. From cacti and succulents to towering palms, there really is something to suit everyone’s style. Use a mix of different pots to make your space feel fresh and vibrant.

  1. Throw in some textiles

After plants, textiles must be the easiest and quickest way to make a space yours. Scatter some cushions and a chunky throw over the sofa; cover a chair with a sheepskin; find a funky upholstered stool and use colourful towels in an all-white bathroom. Get decorating with different textiles and interesting accessories that can provide focal points and add pops of colour to the space. Explore a variety of modern prints, patterns and fabrics to update your interior instantly and make your short-term rental feel more like home. All of our apartments are supplied with plenty of fresh bath and bed linen on check-in.

  1. Get creative with storage

While our Elstree rentals have ample storage space in the kitchens and storage cupboards, you will need to get a bit creative with storage in the rest of the apartment. By adding furniture or accessories you will assist with storage as well as make your rental feel more like home. You can also buy portable storage containers to store clothes, shoes and other items. Avoid causing clutter by only bringing what you need to your rental. If you are interested in adding additional décor to your space, consider bringing in movable shelves where you can place books, plants, candles and baskets for further storage space.

  1. Add art and picture frames

Whether you’re a fan of wall hangings, abstract prints or personalised wall art, adding décor to your wall will instantly give it personality. The good news is that you don’t need to drill nails into the wall to add your art. You can use no-hole picture strips, prop family picture frames up on open shelving or get adhesive strips to temporarily stick your art onto the wall. This way, you still get to add a touch of style to your space, but it’s super simple to get everything back to how it was when you move out.

  1. Short, mid or long-term lets

Our fully furnished Borehamwood and Elstree holiday rentals are also perfect for business trips, corporate accommodation, or accommodation in between house moves or while renovating. Each luxury apartment has double or twin beds, plus a sofa bed in the living area. All kitchens are fully equipped and include a dining table for family dinners or as a workspace. The furnished apartments are located close to the town centre and the BBC Elstree Studios.
