Finchley has attracted artistic and intellectual luminaries for centuries, with such diverse talents as Charles Darwin and Spike Milligan writing some of their greatest works from secluded homes in Finchley.
The Finchley area, as most North London, has always been popular with people working in the arts, but lately, Finchley residents are an increasingly mixed community, varying from families who are looking to join a stable community to young singles and professional couples. The area is also known for its strong Jewish community with a number of synagogues and a cultural centre.
Our guests choose Your Apartment Finchley when they want to couple the excellent transport connection to central London with a more relaxed and almost bohemian environment, close to parks, golf clubs, local theatres and a vibrant community feel.
The area has plenty to offer to those willing to go out without the need to go all the way down to central London. Finchley is a centre of culinary delights with restaurants serving food from every region and culture, and it’s never difficult to find a kosher or halal eatery.
La’zeez, on North Finchley’s busy High Road, is a vegetarian restaurant with an Indo Oriental twist. Non-vegetarians love Genzo, a Greek restaurant regularly named as one of the best restaurants in East Finchley, while for a more traditional British fare, many choose the Two Brothers fish restaurant.
Art lovers regularly meet at the Artsdepot on Tally Ho Corner, which is a multi-purpose community arts centre, comprising theatre spaces, dance and drama studios, gallery and cafe. A few miles south there is also JW3, a new London’s Jewish community centre and arts venue, which offers a variety of film screenings, exhibitions, performances, talks and classes.
Even the local cinema is remarkable! Phoenix Cinema is known for being one of the oldest purpose-built cinemas in the UK, it is at the heart of the community since it has been saved from closure in 1985.
Our golfer guests loved our serviced apartment in Finchley because its location grants great access to several golf clubs, including the Mill Hill Golf Club, Metro Golf Centre and Finchley Golf Club, deemed to be one of the trickiest courses in London.
